![]() ![]() Nikon charges premium prices for its products, and doesn't even provide fully functional RAW editing software with its cameras (Canon does) and doesn't even update it (Capture) or its weaker sibling (ViewNX) for the latest MacOS. If you are from Nikon and reading this, your company should be ashamed of itself. If you have figured a work around for ViewNX in SL, please post it here. Or at least it does if you aren't using Snow Leopard. ViewNX is fast, though quirky, and works great for culling and rating photos on the fly. The new NX Studio software combines the functions of Nikon's ViewNX-I image viewing software and Capture NX-D's. Although many Mac users use iPhoto, Aperture, LightRoom to browse photos, I and many others don't. Nikon has released a new free all-in-one photo editing solution, NX Studio. Unfortunately, ViewNX is left behind (as well as Capture NX2, if you didn't install v. You can even automatically rename the pictures with the date and time the picture was taken, which I personnaly find is very useful. It works great for transfering pictures from your camera or card to your computer. So at least you can upload your photos properly. Acutally, Nikon transfert is a seperate program requiring a separate download (but it can be accessed via View NX once downloaded). This is unacceptable and shows a real lack of consideration for Mac users.įortunately, Nikon Transfer was updated in late October and seems to work fine in SL. If you email Nikon support, they'll tell you they haven't decided IF they will support OS 10.6 (not WHEN). Two months after Snow Leopard is released, and Nikon hasn't even bothered to update its basic photo software for compatibility. ![]()
